Personal Profile
My name is Sterling "Stirfry" Uhl and I have had a love for music since the young age of 5. In terms of performance and for listening pleasure.
I began my performative journey with classical piano training, later venturing into drum set and percussion as middle school encroached and finally picking up bass guitar in further years of high school.
I attended Denver School of the Arts from 7th-12th grade (even though I was in the band from 5th as well) pursuing classical and jazz drum-set/percussion performance. This is where my roots began, sprawling all thought different genres of music, history, theory and trivia. Having such fruitful education and amazing teachers allowed me to become the musician I am today and what I strive to be in the future. I still have a long ways to go, as do all artists.
My love for Engineering and Production really sprouted when I began exploring different typed of electronic music. (I was first introduced to Vangelis but explored from there.) I became quite curious about how the sounds were made and I desperately wanted to recreate that feeling myself. From there I got my first DJ deck, following with Ableton and from there the fuel was added to the fire. I wanted to record and make music as clean as possible and learn all about the tech and creative processes that hide behind the scenes of my favorite music. From R&B to Indie Pop I try to listen to something new every day and gain more knowledge on things I appreciate.
